Comparison review

The Galaxy Note8 has a global score of 83, which is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro's 81.1 general score. Galaxy Note8's construction is a little lighter and just a little thinner than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, despite of the fact that it was released many years before. These phones use Android operating system, but the Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has Android 10 version, counting with lots of additional features.

Galaxy Note8 features a slightly better display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a better pixels number in each inch of screen and a better resolution of 1440 x 2960px. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Galaxy Note8 both count with quite similar processing units, both have the same number of cores and a 6 GB RAM.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro counts with a greater camera than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a tinier aperture which is worse for low-light photos and video, and they both have the same video definition and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also counts with a back camera with a lot better resolution and a much bigger back camera sensor which gives a lot better photo and video quality.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro counts with a little bit better memory capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a really longer battery performance than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 52 percent greater battery size.

Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy Note8, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, giving up some features and specifications.
