Apple iPhone 12 mini has an overall score of 88.5, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's global score of 76.6. Even when Apple iPhone 12 mini and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 were only released with a couple months difference, Apple iPhone 12 mini is way lighter and somewhat thinner. Apple iPhone 12 mini has iOS 14.x operating system, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with Android 10 operating system.
The Apple iPhone 12 mini counts with a sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same exact resolution of 1080 x 2340, the Apple iPhone 12 mini also counts with a just a little greater display pixel density. IPhone 12 mini has a superior performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has 2 less cpu cores , it also counts with a 64-bits CPU and a greater amount of RAM memory.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a superior battery life than Apple iPhone 12 mini, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity against 2227mAh.
Although iPhone 12 mini is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
