Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 has a general score of 87, which is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's overall score of 76.6. Both devices we compare here use Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy A42 has a newer 11 version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has Android 10 version, providing the user a couple nice extra features and a performance increase. Samsung Galaxy A42's design is just a little lighter and a bit thinner than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, even though both were only released with a couple of months difference.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 features a brighter screen than Galaxy A42, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a lot better 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and more pixels per inch in the screen. Galaxy A42 counts with a much better memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because it has an external memory slot that supports up to 1000 GB and 128 GB internal storage capacity.
The Galaxy A42 has a bit faster processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy A42 also has 1 GB more RAM memory. The Samsung Galaxy A42 counts with just a bit better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have a same resolution back-facing camera and the same aperture, the Samsung Galaxy A42 also has a way higher 3840x2160 video resolution.
The Galaxy A42 has a battery life that is very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 one, although the Galaxy A42 has just 5000mAh battery size instead of 5020mAh.
