Comparison review
Xperia 5 II is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, getting a global score of 87.2 against 76.6. Even though the Xperia 5 II and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 were only released with a few months difference, the Xperia 5 II is thinner and somewhat lighter. The Sony Xperia 5 II counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has more RAM.
Xperia 5 II features a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a just a bit higher pixel quantity in each inch of display and a little higher 1080 x 2520 resolution. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a little bit better camera than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for low-light photos and video, a smaller back-facing camera sensor giving a lower image quality and lower video frame rate, and they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also counts with a camera in the back with much more MP.
Xperia 5 II features a lot bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because it has 128 GB internal memory and a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 1000 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with better battery performance than Sony Xperia 5 II, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia 5 II, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, resigning some specs and features.
