Comparison review
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, with a score of 82.2 against 76.6. Even being the best in this review, Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is an older, heavier and much thicker device than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much more vibrant screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 2160 x 3840 and a lot higher screen pixels density.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a bit faster processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a greater amount of RAM. Xperia XZ2 Premium features more storage to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has an external memory slot that admits up to 400 GB.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 shoots slightly better photos and videos than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have a F1.8 aperture, the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also has a back camera with lot more mega pixels and a bigger sensor providing a better image quality.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has a very superior battery performance than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has a 5020mAh battery size instead of 3540mAh.
Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
