Comparison review
ZTE Axon 20 has a global score of 77.8, which is slightly better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's 76.6 score. Even when ZTE Axon 20 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 were only released with a couple of months difference, ZTE Axon 20 is thinner and a little bit lighter. These phones use the same Android 10 OS (operating system), so both should provide identical OS features.
ZTE Axon 20 features a screen that is just as good as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's display, because although the ZTE Axon 20 has a little bit worse count of pixels per screen inch, it also counts with a little bigger screen and a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. The ZTE Axon 20 has just a bit more memory to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 64 GB more internal storage capacity.
The ZTE Axon 20 counts with a bit superior processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the ZTE Axon 20 also has a greater amount of RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with superior battery performance than ZTE Axon 20, because it has a 19% larger battery size. ZTE Axon 20 captures better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture, it also counts with a camera in the back with a way higher 64 mega-pixels resolution, a bigger sensor taking higher quality photos and a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution.
Although ZTE Axon 20 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy ZTE Axon 20, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, resigning a couple specifications.
