The Galaxy Note 5 has a global score of 79.3, which is a little bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S's score of 79. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Note 5 has the older 5.1 version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has Android 11 version. Although Galaxy Note 5 is noticeably older than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, it's design is somewhat lighter and somewhat thinner.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features a much better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a better 2560 x 1440 resolution and a higher pixel density. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has a greater number of cores.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S captures much clearer pictures and videos than Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has a bigger aperture to take better captures and videos in low light situations, a much better resolution back camera and a way larger back camera sensor shooting much higher quality videos and pictures.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S features a much better memory for apps and games than Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has a slot for an external memory card that admits up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a much better battery performance than Galaxy Note 5, because it has a 67 percent more battery capacity.

Although Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Galaxy Note 5, else you can save some dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, resigning a couple features and specs.
