Galaxy A42 has a general score of 87, which is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T's 83 global score. These phones use Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy A42 has newer 11 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T has Android 10, providing the user lots of additional features and improved performance. Galaxy A42's body is just a little bit lighter and just a little bit thinner than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T, although they were released only a couple of months apart.
