Comparison review
The Google Pixel 3a is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, getting a 78.8 score against 72.1. Google Pixel 3a's construction is newer and a little bit lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1's, although it is also just a bit thicker. Both of these devices include Android operating system, but Google Pixel 3a has the older 11 version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat.
Google Pixel 3a counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Y1. They have a Octa-Core processor and a 4 GB RAM memory. The Google Pixel 3a has a much better display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a lot better 1080 x 2220 resolution, a little bigger screen and a much higher screen pixel density.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a much bigger memory capacity to store more games and applications than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 128 GB. The Google Pixel 3a shoots clearer photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a camera in the back with a worse resolution, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture to capture better low-light photography and a way better (4K) video definition.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has a bit better battery lifetime than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a 3080mAh battery capacity.
The Google Pixel 3a costs a bit more money than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a better phone for that extra money.
