HTC One M9 is just a bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, with a overall score of 77.7 against 72.1. Both phones in this comparison review work with Android OS (Operating System), but the HTC One M9 has the older 5.0 version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version. HTC One M9 is better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, we must note that it is also a way older, just a little bit heavier and a lot thicker cellphone.
HTC One M9 features a better CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has 1 GB lesser RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the HTC One M9 also counts with an additional graphics co-processor and a 64 bits processing unit. HTC One M9 has an incredibly better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way better 1920 x 1080px resolution and way more pixels per inch of screen.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a lot bigger memory capacity to install games and applications than HTC One M9, and although they both have a SD extension slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has 64 GB internal memory. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 counts with just a bit longer battery performance than HTC One M9, because it has an 8% larger battery capacity.
The HTC One M9 counts with a better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have the same diafragm aperture, the HTC One M9 also has a much higher (4K) video definition and a way more megapixels back facing camera.
HTC One M9 costs a bit more money than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but you can get a better phone for that extra money.
