Huawei Mate 8 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, with a 77.4 score against 72.1. Despite being the best device in our current comparison, it must be noted that it's also an older, somewhat heavier and a bit thicker device. Huawei Mate 8 features a much better memory capacity to install applications and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have an external memory slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB, the Huawei Mate 8 also has 64 GB more internal memory.
The Huawei Mate 8 features longer battery life than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3080mAh. Huawei Mate 8 features a bit better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Huawei Mate 8 also has a bigger aperture to take better low light photos and videos, a more MP back camera and better video frame rates.
