Comparison review
Huawei Mate 8 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, with a 77.4 score against 72.1. Despite being the best device in our current comparison, it must be noted that it's also an older, somewhat heavier and a bit thicker device. Huawei Mate 8 features a better screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a little bigger display, a way better 1080 x 1920 resolution and a higher amount of pixels per screen inch.
Huawei Mate 8 features a bit superior processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Y1. Both have 8 cpu cores and a 4 GB RAM. Huawei Mate 8 features a much better memory capacity to install applications and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have an external memory slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB, the Huawei Mate 8 also has 64 GB more internal memory.
The Huawei Mate 8 features longer battery life than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3080mAh. Huawei Mate 8 features a bit better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Huawei Mate 8 also has a bigger aperture to take better low light photos and videos, a more MP back camera and better video frame rates.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Y1. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most with your savings.
