Comparison review

LG G5 is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, getting a score of 76.1 against 72.1. LG G5 is an older and a little heavier device than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but LG was able to make it just a bit thinner anyway. These phones have Android OS (Operating System), but LG G5 has a newer 8.0 Oreo version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat.

LG G5 features a much more vibrant screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a lot greater amount of pixels per inch of screen. LG G5 has a way bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that allows up to 1,95 TB.

LG G5 counts with a bit better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, although it has an inferior number of cores (but faster), they both have a 4 GB RAM memory. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a bit longer battery duration than LG G5, because it has a 10% more battery size. The LG G5 takes much better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, a bigger aperture and a back facing camera with more mega pixels.

Although LG G5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most with your budget.
