LG V30S ThinQ has an overall score of 82.5, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's 72.1 overall score. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but the LG V30S ThinQ has newer 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat, giving some additional features and optimized performance. LG V30S ThinQ's body is just a little heavier but a little thinner than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and they were released with only 4 months difference.

LG V30S ThinQ has a bit faster processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the LG V30S ThinQ also has a higher amount of RAM. The LG V30S ThinQ has a much better screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a way better resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels, a way higher pixel number per screen inch and a little bit larger screen.

LG V30S ThinQ counts with a superior camera than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, a much bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low light captures and a more MP back camera. LG V30S ThinQ features a very superior memory capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a slot for an external memory card that admits up to 1,95 TB and more internal memory.

The LG V30S ThinQ counts with just a bit better battery lifetime than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a 7% larger battery size.

Although LG V30S ThinQ is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Y1. So if you need that extra features, you can buy LG V30S ThinQ, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, letting go a couple features and specs.
