LG Velvet has an overall score of 87.1, which is way better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's 72.1 global score. Even though LG Velvet is incredibly newer than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, it's just a little bit thicker and somewhat heavier. The LG Velvet features a more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a way better 1080 x 2460 resolution, a bigger screen and a better pixel density.
LG Velvet has a way bigger memory for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB and 64 GB more internal storage capacity. LG Velvet features a bit superior CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have the same number of cores, the LG Velvet also has more RAM memory.
The LG Velvet features a much longer battery life than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a 4300mAh battery size. LG Velvet has a lot better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a much more mega pixels camera, a larger aperture to capture better photos and videos in poorly lited situations and a way higher (4K) video quality.
LG Velvet is way more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it's still a good choice, as you can get a better phone for that extra money.
