Comparison review
The Galaxy Fold has a score of 97.6, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's general score of 72.1. Both devices in this review use Android OS, but Galaxy Fold has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat, giving some additional features. Galaxy Fold's construction is newer and a bit thinner than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's, but it is also notably heavier.
The Galaxy Fold features a better performing processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have 8 cores, the Galaxy Fold also has 8 GB more RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Fold features a sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a lot better resolution of 1536 x 2152px, a lot bigger screen and a higher pixel density.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold takes better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a camera in the back with a lower 12 MP resolution, it also counts with a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a lot bigger diafragm aperture. Samsung Galaxy Fold has a much bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 448 GB more internal memory capacity.
Galaxy Fold has a much better battery performance than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has 4380mAh of battery capacity against 3080mAh.
Although Galaxy Fold is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. If you want to save some dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, giving up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
