Comparison review
Galaxy Note 5 has a global score of 79.3, which is better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1's 72.1 general score. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but Galaxy Note 5 has an older 5.1 version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat. Galaxy Note 5's design has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it is somewhat heavier.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has 7 more cpu cores. Galaxy Note 5 features a much sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a way better 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, a bit larger display and a lot greater pixel count per screen inch.
Galaxy Note 5 shoots much better photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a camera in the back with more mega-pixels, a way better video definition and a bigger aperture. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a much greater memory to store more games and applications than Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal storage, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 128 GB.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features just a bit better battery duration than Galaxy Note 5, because it has a 3% greater battery size.
Although Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Note 5, else you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, resigning a couple features and specifications.
