Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has a global score of 80.9, which is better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's global score of 72.1. Both of these phones work with Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has the previous 5.0 version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version. Samsung Galaxy S6 Active's design is somewhat thicker but way lighter than Xiaomi Redmi Y1.
The Galaxy S6 Active has a much more vibrant screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher display pixels density and a lot higher 2560 x 1440 resolution. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a much bigger storage for games and applications than Galaxy S6 Active, because it has 32 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Galaxy S6 Active features a more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has 1 GB less RAM memory, and they both have 8 CPU cores, the Galaxy S6 Active also counts with an additional graphics processor and a 64-bits CPU. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 shoots just a bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and video, a much worse (Full HD) video resolution and a camera with less megapixels.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active counts with just a bit better battery performance than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a 3500mAh battery capacity instead of 3080mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it's still a good choice, as you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
