Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, having a 94.6 score against 72.1. Both of these phones use Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has older 11 version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a a lot newer and a bit thinner phone than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, although it is a lot heavier.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 counts with a more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 also has a larger amount of RAM. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 counts with a much better screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a much bigger display, a higher display density and a lot better resolution of 1768 x 2208px.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 counts with a much bigger storage to install games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage. Galaxy Z Fold 2 shoots much better videos and photos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a back facing camera with a worse resolution, it also counts with a lot better 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a larger diafragm aperture to take better low-light photography.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a way better battery life than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3080mAh.
Although Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. If you prefer to save some money, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most out of your money.
