Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, getting a global score of 76.5 against 72.1. Although the Xiaomi Mi 6 and the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 were released with only a couple months difference, the Xiaomi Mi 6 body is a bit heavier but also a bit thinner. The Xiaomi Mi 6 counts with a bit superior processor than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xiaomi Mi 6 also has more RAM.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 has a much sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a lot better screen pixels density. Xiaomi Mi 6 shoots clearer videos and photos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a lesser mega-pixels back-facing camera, it also counts with a much better (4K) video quality and a bigger aperture to take better captures in poorly lited situations.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 counts with a slightly bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 64 GB more internal memory capacity. The Xiaomi Mi 6 counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a 3350mAh battery capacity instead of 3080mAh.
Although Xiaomi Mi 6 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Y1. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Xiaomi Mi 6, otherwise you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, letting go some features and specs.
