The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has an overall score of 77.7, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1's 72.1 score. Both devices in this review include Android OS, but the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has 8.1 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite construction has the same thickness than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it's a little heavier.
