The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE has an overall score of 81.4, which is better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's score of 72.1. Both devices in this review come with Android OS (Operating System), but Xiaomi Mi 9 SE has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat, so it gives a lot of extra features and performance tweaks. Although Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is a little bit heavier than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, it's just a bit thinner and newer.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE features a bit more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE also has 2 GB more RAM memory.
