Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, with a 77.5 score against 72.1. Xiaomi Mi Max 2's design has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it is a lot heavier. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a little more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a higher screen pixel density, a bigger screen and a lot higher 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a little faster processor than Xiaomi Redmi Y1. Both have a Octa-Core processing unit and a 4 GB RAM memory. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features much more storage capacity to install games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have a slot for an SD memory card that holds up to 128 GB, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has 64 GB more internal storage capacity.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a way better battery duration than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a 72 percent more battery size. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 captures clearer videos and photos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a back-facing camera with lesser megapixels resolution, and they both have a F2.2 camera aperture, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also counts with a way higher 3840x2160 video resolution.
Although Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, resigning some specifications.
