The Xiaomi Mi MIX has a score of 76.2, which is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1's 72.1 overall score. Xiaomi Mi MIX is an older, just a bit thicker and extremely heavier phone than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Xiaomi Mi MIX has the older 6.0 Marshmallow version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version.
Xiaomi Mi MIX counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, although it has a lower number of cores (although faster), they both have 4 GB of RAM. Xiaomi Mi MIX has a more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a way better 1080 x 2040px resolution, a better quantity of pixels per display inch and a bigger display.

So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Xiaomi Mi MIX, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, letting go some specifications.
