Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, having a global score of 76 against 72.1. Xiaomi Mi Note 2's design has the same thickness than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but it's a bit heavier. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has older 6.0 Marshmallow version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with a little bit better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has lesser processing cores , it also counts with a greater amount of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with a sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a quite bigger screen, a better display pixel density and a way better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 takes a little bit better videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, although it has a much worse resolution camera, a lot worse 1920x1080 video definition and a smaller diafragm aperture which is not so good for shooting pictures and videos in low-light situations. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a slightly bigger storage to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has greater battery lifetime than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has 4070mAh of battery capacity against 3080mAh.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
