Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, having a 75.8 score against 72.1. Although it's the best in our current comparison, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a just a little bit thicker and heavier device than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1. Both phones in this review include Android OS (Operating System), but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has newer 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a little bit better processing power than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a better display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a much higher 1080 x 2160px resolution, a little bigger display and a much greater pixel density.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro counts with a camera that is very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 one, and although the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a back facing camera with a lower 12 MP resolution and a lower (Full HD) video resolution, they both have a F2.2 aperture.
