Comparison review
The Sony Xperia 1 is a little bit better than the ZTE Axon 20, with an 82.6 score against 77.8. The Sony Xperia 1 is an older and a little bit thicker phone than ZTE Axon 20, but Sony managed to build it lighter anyway. Sony Xperia 1 has a bit better performance than ZTE Axon 20, although it has lesser RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processor.
Xperia 1 counts with a more vivid display than ZTE Axon 20, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a way higher quantity of pixels per inch of display. The Sony Xperia 1 features a much better storage capacity to install applications and games than ZTE Axon 20, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage, the Sony Xperia 1 also has an external memory slot that admits up to 512 GB.
ZTE Axon 20 features a very superior camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not so good for low-light images, and they both have the same (4K) video quality, the ZTE Axon 20 also counts with faster 60 fps video frame rate, a lot better resolution back camera and a way bigger camera sensor providing a much higher image quality.
ZTE Axon 20 features longer battery performance than Sony Xperia 1, because it has a 27 percent larger battery capacity.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the ZTE Axon 20, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as ZTE Axon 20. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Xperia 1, else you can save some dollars and get the ZTE Axon 20, resigning a couple specifications.
