Acer neoTouch Review

Acer neoTouch is a not so powerful cellphone launched back in 2009, featuring a medium sized 3.8" touch-screen, a 5 mega-pixels back side camera and a powerful 1 GHz CPU.

Acer decided to equip this device with a powerful CPU running at 1000 MHz, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 QSD8250 chip and as little as 256 MB RAM. Graphic calculations usually consume a lot of CPU time, so it also counts with an Adreno 200 GPU running at 128 megahertz to help with that calculations.

Apparently Acer decided not to care much about the weight in this 4.59 oz phone.

The Acer neoTouch has only a 5 megapixels back camera. This cellphone also has flash.

This phone has a good looking 3.8" display with a 800 x 480 resolution, giving this phone a very good image quality. Its display uses TFT resistive technology, but it can't detect multi touch gestures.

This phone counts with a 1350 mAh medium sized Li-Ion battery that provides this phone a not very long battery life. According to Acer, this device has an aproximate 5 hs talk time and a 400 hours stand by time.

This cellphone features WiFi capability (although it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast data connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Acer neoTouch uses a SIM card for GSM carriers.

This cellphone also comes with a couple of nice characteristics as Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth cellphones, computers and accessories), GPS Geolocation and Radio, and some sensors likeProximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
