Alcatel OT-890D Review

Alcatel OT-890D is a quite basic Android phone, coming with a small 2.8" display, a 2 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a powerful 420 MHz CPU.

Alcatel decided to equip this phone using a quite powerful 420 megahertz processor. This cellphone has a 153,6 MB internal storage memory, a small quantity that could be adequate for basic users knowing that this phone also has a slot for an external memory card to store songs, pictures and videos and even some apps that allow external memory installation.

Apparently Alcatel decided not to care so much about the weight in this 3.55 oz cellphone. The Alcatel OT-890D is 4.33" long, but it is only able to pack a smaller 2.8" display. Alcatel made this cellphoneavailable just in 3 colors, purple, orange and gray.

The Alcatel OT-890D is only equipped with a 2 mega-pixels back side camera. It also captures videos up to 320x240 (QVGA) at 15 fps.

The Alcatel OT-890D is equipped with a good 2.8 inches screen with a 320 x 240 (QVGA) resolution, giving this phone a nice image quality. This screen uses TFT resistive technology, but it doesn't allow multi-touch gestures.

The Alcatel OT-890D packs a poor 1000 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery that can keep it running for some hours, although you will probably find yourself looking for a place to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. Alcatel informs a stand by time of 400 hours and a talk time of 6 hours for this cellphone.

This device offers WiFi connectivity (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a wireless router or modem) and 3G connectivity, supported by EDGE technologies. The Alcatel OT-890D uses 2 SIM cards so it's able to use 2 different phone lines and even different carriers.

This phone also includes a couple of useful characteristics such as Bluetooth (2.1) and GPS Geolocation, and a few sensors likeAccelerometer and Compass.
