Alcatel OT-990A Review

Alcatel OT-990A is a low end device, equipped with a 3.5 inches multi touch capacitive screen, a good 600 megahertz CPU, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera.

Alcatel decided to build this device with a quite powerful CPU clocking at 600 megahertz, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227 chip. To collaborate with graphic calculations, this phone also uses an Adreno 200 GPU working at 128 MHz. This cellphone counts with a little 153,6 MB internal storage memory, which could be adequate for basic users considering that this cellphone also has an SD memory slot to store songs, photos and videos.

Alcatel made this device in three different color options: black, purple and red.

Alcatel equipped this phone with an average 3.5-inches display, and a resolution of 480 x 320 , which makes everything look quite vivid. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This cellphone offers WiFi capability (although it can't share it with other devices acting as a hotspot) and fast 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This phone is equipped with two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 MP front camera. This camera also includes flash and auto-focus.

This phone packs a medium 1300 mAh Li-Ion removable battery providing this cellphone with a below average battery duration. Alcatel afirms this phone has a 550 hs stand by time and a 6 hs talk time.

This phone also includes a couple nice characteristics like Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Localization, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
