Huawei Ascend D1 quad XL Review

Score: 59.5 / 100

Huawei Ascend D1 quad XL is a good device released some years ago, in 2012, featuring a medium sized 4.5" multi-touch screen, a high speed Quad-Core processor running at 1400 megahertz, and 2 cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front facing camera.

Huawei decided to equip this cellphone using a Huawei K3V2 chip, including a very powerful 1400 MHz Quad-Core processing unit and only 1 GB of RAM which is a little disappointing for a cellphone this powerful. This cellphone counts with aquite big 8 GB internal storage and an SD card slot, which allows the user to install a couple hundred games and apps without running out of space.

It appears that Huawei forgot about weight optimization in this 5.11 oz device. Though the Huawei Ascend D1 quad XL is quite thin it's not close to being one of the thinnest phones on sale, with a thickness of 0.45 inches. This cellphone is only 5.11 inches long and 2.56" wide, but it manages to hold a 4.5 inches screen. The Huawei Ascend D1 quad XL is offerred in 2 colors, black and white.

This device is equipped with two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back camera and a 1.3 megapixels front camera. It is also able to capture Full HD 1920x1080 videos. This cellphone also has a few nice characteristics like auto-focus, flash, HDR mode and geo tagging.

Huawei designed the Huawei Ascend D1 quad XL with a completely amazing 4.5-inches display, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD), which makes all images and videos look completely perfect. This display uses Super IPS+ LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This phone offers wifi connection (which can be provided to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ 4G internet connection, that is not so fast as LTE networks and fast 3G internet connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone comes with a 2600 mAh huge replaceable battery that can keep this device running for many hours without charging it.

The Huawei Ascend D1 quad XL also features a few nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

No matter if you are looking for a cellphone for work, are looking for a phone to play games or will use it majorly for social networks, you will definitely love this device.
