i-mate 810-F Review

I-mate 810-F is a not very powerful Windows Mobile Professional device launched in February 2009, having a 2 megapixels back-facing camera, a 2.5-inches screen and a 624 MHz processing unit. Is that all? No, it's just the starting point of a much deeper review.

This cellphone is equipped with a good 624 megahertz processing unit with just 128 MB of RAM memory. The i-mate 810-F comes with a passable 2 GB internal storage, which is a little small considering it doesn't count with an SD extension slot to store more apps, songs, photographs, videos.

The i-mate 810-F is quite thick compared to current devices, being as thick as 0.61 inches. The i-mate 810-F isn't a compact cellphone, taking into consideration it is 4.37 inches long,but it only packs a 2.5 inches display. I-mate didn't put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.29 ounces cellphone, far heavier than other similar phones.

This phone is only equipped with a 2 mega-pixels back facing camera.

I-mate packed this cellphone with a interesting 2.5" display, and a 240 x 320 (QVGA) resolution, which makes all photos and videos look quite vivid. This display uses TFT resistive technology, but it can't detect multi touch gestures.

This cellphone has wi-fi capability (but it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a hotspot) and 3G fast connectivity, supported by HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card for GSM connection.

This phone also features a couple of useful characteristics such as Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth phones and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and some sensors likeAccelerometer and Compass.

This phone features a low capacity 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is not really enough for a consuming phone like this. According to i-mate, the i-mate 810-F has an estimated 3.5 hours talk time and a 200 hours stand by time.
