Motorola XT701 Review

Motorola XT701 is a decent quality phone released back in the year 2010, with a powerful CPU speeding at 600 MHz, a 5 mega-pixels back camera and a 3.7 inches capacitive screen.

Motorola sells this cellphone with a good 600 megahertz processing unit, packed into a TI OMAP3430 system chip with just 256 MB of RAM. To help with graphic intensive apps, the Motorola XT701 also uses a 200 megahertz PowerVR SGX530 graphics processing unit. This phone comes with a 262,14 MB internal memory, a low amount that might be adequate for basic users considering that it also has an SD memory slot to store songs, pictures and videos and even some applications that allow external memory installation.

The Motorola XT701 feels quite heavy for a cellphone of this size, with a weight of 5.64 oz. This phone is very thin and looks really nice, while it's not as slim as many other phones in the market, with a thickness of 0.43 inches.

This phone is only equipped with a 5 MP back camera. This phone can also film 720x480 videos at 24 fps. The camera also includes a large number of great characteristics: flash, fast burst mode, auto-focus, digital image stabilization, smile detection shooting, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

Motorola equipped this cellphone with a nice 3.7-inches screen, and a resolution of 854 x 480 , which makes it hard to distinguish the pixels that compose the screen. This screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This phone features wifi connectivity (but it can't be provided to other devices acting as a wireless modem or router) and the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device uses a SIM card for GSM networks.

This cellphone also features a few interesting characteristics such as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone uses a 1390 mAh medium Li-Ion replaceable battery that provides the Motorola XT701 a not very long battery life comparing with other similar cellphones. This cellphone has an estimated stand by time of 320 hs and a talk time of 9 hours according to Motorola.
