The ZTE Compel's thickness (0.45") is a little far from today's standards, but it still feels quite comfortable in the hand. It appears that ZTE decided not to care so much about the weight in this 5.13 ounces device. ZTE made the ZTE Compelavailable just in color black.
ZTE decided to power this device with a very fast Quad-Core CPU ticking at 1200 megahertz, bundled in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8926 system chip with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little bit poor for such a powerful phone. Handling graphic calculations, the ZTE Compel also has an Adreno 305 GPU clocking at 450 megahertz. This cellphone has a passable 4 GB internal memory, which is fine knowing that it also has an SD extension slot to store songs, photos and videos.
ZTE equipped the ZTE Compel with a interesting 4-inches screen, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , which makes all images and videos look vivid. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
This phone provides wi-fi connection (which it can provide to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (LTE) high performance connectivity and fast 3G connectivity, over HSPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a Micro SIM card to use GSM services.
This cellphone is only equipped with a 5 mega-pixels back camera. It is capable of capturing 1280x720 HD videos. In addition, the camera has flash and auto-focus.
This device also includes some useful features like Bluetooth (allows communication with other phones and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This cellphone uses a 1820 mAh medium sized Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is quite poor for a thirsty phone like this. ZTE reports a 360 hours stand by time and a 4.5 hours talk time for this cellphone.
This phone is a little expensive considering it is sold for 65 dollars, while other similar phones are being sold for less than that.
