ZTE Orbit Review

ZTE Orbit is a mid-to-low level Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh phone released some years ago, in 2012, including a great performance CPU running at 1 GHz, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 4-inches multi-touch screen. That's everything we have to say? No, it's just the starting point.

This device is a bit heavy comparing with today standards, with a weight of 4.81 ounces. This phone's thickness (0.4 inches) is a bit far from current standards, but it still feels comfortable in the user's hand.

ZTE decided to build this cellphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A-1 chip, including a powerful CPU ticking at 1 gigahertz and 512 MB of RAM memory. This cellphone has a passable 4 GB internal storage memory, which might be a bit low depending on the use considering it doesn't count with an SD memory slot to store additional apps, songs, pictures, videos.

The ZTE Orbit includes a good looking 4" display with a 800 x 480 resolution, providing this phone with a nice graphical experience. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This phone is only equipped with a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera. This cellphone can also film videos in 1280x720 (HD) at 30 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also features a couple of interesting features: auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.

This device uses a 1600 mAh medium capacity Li-Ion removable battery that can keep this cellphone running for some hours, although you will find yourself looking for a place to charge it if you use it heavily. ZTE reports a talk time of 4.7 hours and a stand by time of 220 hs for this cellphone.

This cellphone includes wifi connection (but it can't be shared with other devices around, acting as a wireless router) and the fastest 3G data connection, supported by HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The ZTE Orbit uses a SIM card for GSM networks.

This cellphone also comes with a lot of great characteristics as NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth cellphones and accessories), GPS Localization and Radio, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
