Acer Predator 8 is just a bit better than the Acer Iconia A1, with a global score of 57.7 against 55.4. The Acer Predator 8 design is a lot newer, somewhat lighter and thinner than Acer Iconia A1. Both of these tablets work with Android OS (Operating System), but Acer Predator 8 has the newer 5.1 Lollipop version while Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1, so it provides you a lot of extra features and better performance.
Acer Predator 8 counts with a bit better processing power than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, and they both have 4 processing cores, the Acer Predator 8 also counts with a larger amount of RAM. Acer Predator 8 has a bit sharper display than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a lot greater quantity of pixels per inch in the display, a bit bigger screen and a way better 1200 x 1920 resolution.
The Acer Iconia A1 captures much clearer pictures and videos than Acer Predator 8. They have a back-facing camera with a 5 MP resolution. Acer Predator 8 counts with much more storage to store more games and applications than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 128 GB and 16 GB more internal storage.
The Acer Iconia A1 features a little better battery lifetime than Acer Predator 8, because it has 4960mAh of battery capacity against 4420mAh.
Although Acer Predator 8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Acer Iconia A1. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Acer Iconia A1, giving up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
