Acer Iconia A1 is an interesting tablet device launched in 2013, provisioned with a great 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processing unit, a pretty large 7.9" touch-screen, and two cameras, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front-facing camera. Let's take a better sight of what this tablet offers to us.
This tablet is sold in two different colors, black and white. The Acer Iconia A1 feels a bit heavy for a portable tablet this size, weighting 14.39 oz. This tablet is thin and comfortable, though it's not so thin as many other devices currently available, with a thickness of 0.44". This tablet is quite a compact tablet device, taking into consideration it features a 7.9 inches display and it is just 8.22" long and 5.74 inches wide.
Acer packed the Acer Iconia A1 with an average 7.9-inches display, and a resolution of 768 x 1024 , giving this tablet a decent graphic quality. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
Acer ships this tablet with a MediaTek MT8125 system chip, packing an extremely powerful Quad-Core CPU ticking at 1.2 GHz and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little disappointing considering the Acer Iconia A1's powerful processor. To help with graphic rendering, it also has a PowerVR SGX544 GPU clocking at 384 MHz. A good advantage of the Acer Iconia A1 is the 16 GB quite large internal storage and an external SD slot, allowing the user to store hundreds of games and applications without running out of space.
The Acer Iconia A1 includes Wi-Fi connection (but it can't be provided to other devices acting as a wireless modem or router). The Acer Iconia A1 doesn't have a sim card, because it is not a GSM enabled tablet.
This device is equipped with two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera. It is capable of capturing 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 30 fps. This camera also has auto-focus and geo tagging.
The Acer Iconia A1 also includes a few cool characteristics as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS, and a couple sensors likeAccelerometer and Gyroscope.
This tablet counts with a 4960 mAh massive Li-Ion non-removable battery that can keep it running for several hours and even reach the end of the day without charging it at all. An issue to take into consideration is that this tablet's battery is non-removable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to last shorter, though with this big battery you will probably discard this tablet before it happens.
This tablet costs $ 80, which is rather expensive for a device this level. No matter if you want a portable tablet for work, want this portable tablet mainly for internet broswing and social networks or want a gamer tablet device, you will definitely love this tablet.
