Acer Iconia A1 is a nice tablet device, which counts with an exceptional Quad-Core processing unit speeding at 1200 megahertz, a pretty large 7.9-inches touch-screen, a 5 MP back camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera. But it's time to get into much more details.
This tablet ships with a high speed Quad-Core CPU ticking at 1.2 GHz, packed into a MediaTek MT8125 chip and only 1 GB RAM which is a bit low for a device of this level. Graphic rendering often consume a lot of processing time, so it also also has a PowerVR SGX544 graphic processing unit ticking at 384 MHz to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. An interesting aspect of the Acer Iconia A1 is its quite large 8 GB internal storage and an external SD slot, allowing you to store a couple hundred games and apps without any problem.
Acer is offering this tablet in 2 different colors: black and white. It seems like Acer forgot about weight optimization in this 14.39 oz tablet. The Acer Iconia A1 is just 8.22" long, but it's able to fit a a 7.9" screen. This tablet is quite slim, but it's not so thin as many other tablets nowadays, with a thickness of 0.44 inches.
This tablet features two cameras, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera. It can also capture 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 30 fps. In addition, the camera includes auto-focus and geo tagging.
Acer packed this tablet with a nice 7.9 inches display, and a 768 x 1024 resolution, giving this tablet a decent graphical experience. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
The Acer Iconia A1 features amassive 4960 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that provides the Acer Iconia A1 a marvelous battery life. An issue to take into consideration is that the Acer Iconia A1's battery is non-replaceable so you can't throw it away and buy a new one when it begins to live shorter, whereas with such a great capacity you will probably replace this tablet before that happens.
This device features Wi-Fi connectivity (but it can't provide it to other devices as a mobile mobile hotspot). The Acer Iconia A1 doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM connections.
This tablet also includes a handful of interesting features as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Navigation, and a couple sensors likeAccelerometer and Gyroscope.
This tablet is very overvalued considering it is offerred for 210 dollars, and many similar tablets can be found for much less money. The Acer Iconia A1 is probably a great option for you no matter if you want it for gaming or will use this portable tablet mostly for internet broswing and social networks.
