Sony Tablet P Review

Score: 55.7 / 100

Sony Tablet P is a little bit outdated tablet launched in 2011, having a great performance 1000 MHz Dual-Core processing unit, a 5.5" multi touch display, and 2 cameras, a 5 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front-facing camera. Is that all? Not at all, it's only the tip of the iceberg.

Sony decided to power this tablet using a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, which holds a fast 1000 MHz Dual-Core processor and 1 GB of RAM memory. The Sony Tablet P counts with a decent 4 GB internal storage memory, which is quite good having that the Sony Tablet P also has a slot for an external memory card to store photos and videos and even some applications that allow being installed in the external memory.

Apparently Sony didn't care much about the weight in this 13.12 oz tablet. The Sony Tablet P is a little bit thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.55 inches. While this tablet has 7.09" long and 6.22" wide, it only packs a smaller 5.5" screen.

The Sony Tablet P has two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front camera. It is also able to shoot videos in HD 1280x720. This device also features auto-focus.

This device is equipped with a interesting 480 x 1024 5.5" screen, which makes all photos and movies look colorful and brightful. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

The Sony Tablet P uses a 3080 mAh high capacity Li-Ion non-removable battery providing this tablet an extremely long battery duration. An issue to take into account is that this tablet's battery isn't replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it begins to get older, although with such a great capacity you will probably discard this tablet before it becomes a real problem.

This tablet provides Wi-Fi connection (although it can't be provided to other devices acting as a modem or router), LTE (4G) fast connection type and fast 3G internet connection, using HSPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device works with a SIM card for GSM services.

The Sony Tablet P also features a handful of useful features like Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth tablets, computers and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

Sony sells this device for 200 dollars, which is expensive for comparing with similar tablets. If you want a tablet to mainly use social networks and internet browsing or will use it as a gamer tablet, this tablet device is definitely a great option .
