Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) Review

8 GB (P3100)     See other variants reviews Score: 58.5 / 100

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is a solid Android device released in February 2012, including a pretty big 7 inches multi touch screen, a fast 1000 MHz Dual-Core CPU, a 3 MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front side camera.

This tablet is a compact tablet, taking into consideration it has a 7" screen and it is just 7.63" long. This device's thickness of 0.41" is a bit far from nowadays standards, but it still feels in the user's hand. This tablet doesn't feel very lightweight for a tablet of this size, with a weight of 12.13 oz.

Samsung decided to design this tablet using a powerful 1000 megahertz Dual-Core CPU with 1 GB RAM memory. A nice point of this tablet is its quite big 8 GB internal storage memory and an SD memory slot, which allows the user to store hundreds of apps and games without any trouble.

This tablet is equipped with two cameras, a 3 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front side camera. It is capable of filming videos in HD 1280x720 at 30 fps. This camera also has geo tagging and smile detection shooting.

This tablet includes a good 600 x 1024 7" display, making everything look good. Its display uses Super PLS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

This tablet uses a big capacity 4000 mAh Li-Ion non-replaceable battery providing the Tab 2 (7.0) an extremely long battery duration. An issue to take into account is that the Tab 2 (7.0)'s battery is not removable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins losing capacity, even though having 4000 mAh you will probably replace this tablet device before that becomes a real problem.

The Tab 2 (7.0) provides WiFi connectivity (although it can't be provided to other devices acting as a router or modem), HSPA+ 4G connectivity, that is not so fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and 3G fast connectivity, using HSDPA and UMTS technologies. This device doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't work with GSM connections.

The Tab 2 (7.0) also features a couple of nice characteristics like Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Geolocation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This tablet is being sold for 100 dollars, quite high for this type of tablet device. It doesn't matter whether you are looking for a gaming tablet, are looking for a social tablet or want a work tablet device, this tablet is definitely the right one for you.
