Asus MeMO Pad 8 Review

16 GB (ME581CL)     See other variants reviews Score: 60.1 / 100

Asus MeMO Pad 8 is an interesting Android portable tablet released in June 2014, coming with a very powerful Quad-Core processing unit running at 2.3 GHz, a pretty big 8" display, and 2 cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 1.2 mega-pixels front camera.

This device feels much lighter than what one would think about a tablet device of this size. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 is only 8.39" long, but it's able to fit a a 8" display. This tablet is just 0.29 inches thick, taking it to the thinnest tablet device's category.

Asus decided to build this tablet device with an extremely powerful 2.3 GHz Quad-Core CPU, included in the Intel Atom Z3580 system chip and a great 2 GB of RAM memory. A nice point of this tablet is its quite big 16 GB internal storage and a slot for external memory cards, allowing you to store hundreds of games and apps without any problem.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 is equipped with a interesting 1920 x 1200 8-inches screen, making everything look beautiful. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has Wi-Fi connectivity (although it can't be shared with other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot), LTE 4G high speed connection type and also HSPA+ data connection, a lower speed 4G type and the fastest 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA and HSUPA technologies. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 works with a SIM card for GSM carriers.

This tablet has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 1.2 mega-pixels front camera. This device also shoots HD 1280x720 videos. This camera also has geo tagging and auto-focus.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 also includes some interesting characteristics as NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your tablet device close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Localization, and a couple sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 is a little bit overpriced considering it costs 130 dollars, and other similar tablets are being sold for less than that. It doesn't matter whether you are looking for a social tablet device or want a portable tablet to play games, this tablet device is the correct option for you.
