Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a score of 61.2, which is much better than the Acer Iconia A1's 55.4 score. Both tablets in this review use Android OS (Operating System), but the Asus MeMO Pad 8 has 4.4 version while Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1, so it provides you some extra features and performance tweaks. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 is a newer tablet, and it's also noticeably lighter and incredibly thinner than the Acer Iconia A1.
Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with a little better performance than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, and they both have a Quad-Core processor, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 also counts with 1 GB more RAM memory. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with just a bit better looking screen than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a little larger display, a way higher 1920 x 1200px resolution and a way better screen density.
Asus MeMO Pad 8 features much more memory for games and applications than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 64 GB and more internal storage. The Acer Iconia A1 takes much clearer photographs and videos than Asus MeMO Pad 8, and although they both have a camera in the back with a 5 MP resolution, the Acer Iconia A1 also has a way higher video quality.
The Acer Iconia A1 features a much better battery life than Asus MeMO Pad 8.
Although Asus MeMO Pad 8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Acer Iconia A1. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Asus MeMO Pad 8, else you can save some money and buy the Acer Iconia A1, resigning a couple features and specs.
