Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 has a global score of 63.4, which is much better than the Acer Iconia A1's 55.4 general score. The Microsoft Surface 2 body is incredibly thinner but extremely heavier than Acer Iconia A1, and both were only released with a couple months difference. The Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1 OS.
Microsoft Surface 2 has just a little better performance than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, and they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also counts with more RAM memory. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit more vivid display than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a higher quantity of pixels per inch of screen, a lot bigger screen and a lot better 1080 x 1920 resolution.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity. The Acer Iconia A1 has a really longer battery performance than Microsoft Surface 2. Acer Iconia A1 counts with a much better camera than Microsoft Surface 2. They have a same resolution camera in the back, the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and the same video frame rate.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Acer Iconia A1. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Acer Iconia A1, giving up a few features and specifications, but you will get the most with your money.
