Microsoft Surface 3 has a global score of 66.3, which is much better than Acer Iconia A1's score of 55.4. The Microsoft Surface 3 construction is newer and much thinner than Acer Iconia A1's, although it's also incredibly heavier. The Microsoft Surface 3 has a bit better processor than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, and they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 3 also counts with 3 GB more RAM.
The Acer Iconia A1 counts with a bit better looking display than Microsoft Surface 3, although it has a just a bit worse number of pixels per screen inch, a way smaller display and a way worse 768 x 1024 resolution. The Microsoft Surface 3 features a much greater memory capacity for games and applications than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity.
Acer Iconia A1 counts with just a bit better camera than Microsoft Surface 3, although it has a much worse 5 mega pixels resolution camera and a lower (Full HD) video definition. The Acer Iconia A1 features a much better battery duration than Microsoft Surface 3.
Although Microsoft Surface 3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Acer Iconia A1. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 3, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Acer Iconia A1, letting go some specs and features.
