Comparison review
The Sony Tablet S has a global score of 57.5, which is a little bit better than the Acer Iconia A1's 55.4 general score. Despite of the fact Sony Tablet S is noticeably older and notably heavier than the Acer Iconia A1, it's body is still a bit thinner. Both of these devices work with Android operating system, but Sony Tablet S has an older 4.0 version and Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1.
Acer Iconia A1 features a bit better processor than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have a 1 GB RAM, the Acer Iconia A1 also has an extra GPU and more CPU cores. The Acer Iconia A1 features a little bit better looking display than Sony Tablet S, because although it has a quite lower 768 x 1024 resolution and a little smaller screen, it also counts with a just a bit greater pixel number per inch of display.
Sony Tablet S has a much better memory capacity for games and applications than Acer Iconia A1, and although they both have a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 32 GB, the Sony Tablet S also has 32 GB internal memory. The Acer Iconia A1 shoots slightly better pictures and videos than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have a same resolution back facing camera, the Acer Iconia A1 also has a much better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
Sony Tablet S features just a bit better battery performance than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a 1 percent larger battery capacity.
Although Sony Tablet S is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Acer Iconia A1. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Sony Tablet S, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Acer Iconia A1, letting go some features and specifications.
