Comparison review
The Xperia Tablet Z is way better than Acer Iconia A1, getting a general score of 68.5 against 55.4. Even though the Xperia Tablet Z and Acer Iconia A1 were released with only a couple of months difference, Xperia Tablet Z's construction is much thinner but also somewhat heavier. Both of these devices have Android operating system, but Xperia Tablet Z has newer 4.4.4 version while Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a little more vivid display than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a larger display, a better pixel count in each display inch and a lot better resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a bit superior processing unit than Acer Iconia A1, and although they both have 4 processing cores, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a much better GPU running at 400 MHz and 1 GB more RAM.
The Acer Iconia A1 features a little bit better camera than Xperia Tablet Z, although it has a lower 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and a camera with a lot lower 5 megapixels resolution. The Xperia Tablet Z counts with a much better memory for applications and games than Acer Iconia A1, because it has 32 GB internal storage and a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 64 GB.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z features superior battery duration than Acer Iconia A1, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity instead of 4960mAh.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Acer Iconia A1. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy Acer Iconia A1, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
