Xperia Z2 Tablet has a global score of 69.8, which is much better than Acer Iconia A1's score of 55.4. Even though the Xperia Z2 Tablet and the Acer Iconia A1 were only released with a few months difference, the Xperia Z2 Tablet construction is a little heavier but also a lot thinner than the Acer Iconia A1. These tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but Xperia Z2 Tablet has newer 4.4.4 version while Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1 version, so it gives you some additional features.
Xperia Z2 Tablet has a more powerful processor than Acer Iconia A1, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia Z2 Tablet also has a better 450 MHz graphics co-processor and a greater amount of RAM. Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has a sharper screen than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a much higher 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution, a bigger screen and a greater display density.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet has just a bit more storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Acer Iconia A1, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Xperia Z2 Tablet also has an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 64 GB. Xperia Z2 Tablet counts with longer battery lifetime than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity instead of 4960mAh.
The Acer Iconia A1 shoots a little bit better videos and photos than Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, although it has a way worse resolution back facing camera and a worse 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet costs a lot more money than the Acer Iconia A1, but you can get a much better tablet for that extra dollars.
