Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has an overall score of 68.7, which is much better than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479's 54.7 general score. Both of these tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has the newer 4.2.2 version while Acer Iconia A1-830-1479 has Android 4.2.1 version, so it gives you a couple additional features. Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is a a little bit thinner and lighter tablet than the Acer Iconia A1-830-1479.
Acer Iconia A1-830-1479 has a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, although it has a quite lower 1024 x 768 resolution and a just a bit inferior quantity of pixels per screen inch, they both have a display of the same size. Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with a much greater memory capacity for applications and games than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, because it has 32 GB internal storage and an external SD slot that admits up to 64 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch features a little bit better hardware performance than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has an extra GPU and a higher amount of RAM. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a little longer battery duration than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, because it has a 4450mAh battery capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch takes better photographs and videos than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479. Both of them have the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality, the same video frame rate and a back camera with a 5 megapixels resolution.
Despite of being the best tablet between the ones we are comparing here, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is also cheap compared to the Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, making this tablet an easy choice.
