Galaxy Tab Active has a global score of 67, which is way better than the Acer Iconia A1-830-1479's general score of 54.7. These tablets use Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab Active has newer 4.4 version while Acer Iconia A1-830-1479 has Android 4.2.1 version, giving a couple nice extra features and performance enhancements. Even being the best tablet in this review, Galaxy Tab Active's design is just a bit heavier and noticeably thicker than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479.
The Galaxy Tab Active counts with a little more vivid screen than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, and although they both have a same size screen, the Galaxy Tab Active also has a little greater pixel count per inch of screen and a bit higher resolution of 1280 x 800px. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features just a bit more memory for applications and games than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, and although they both have exactly the same 16 GB internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active also has a SD card slot that allows up to 64 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active counts with a bit better CPU than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, because it has an extra graphics processor, 2 more processing cores and more RAM memory. Galaxy Tab Active has just a bit better battery life than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, because it has a 4450mAh battery size.
The Galaxy Tab Active shoots a bit better photographs and videos than Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, although it has a way lower resolution back facing camera and a much worse (HD) video quality.
Galaxy Tab Active costs a lot more money than the Acer Iconia A1-830-1479, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a lot more for that extra money.
