The Microsoft Surface 2 has a score of 63.4, which is much better than the Acer Iconia A3's global score of 55.2. The Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Acer Iconia A3 counts with Android 4.2 OS. Microsoft Surface 2's body is somewhat thinner but somewhat heavier than the Acer Iconia A3, and both were only released with a few months difference.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features a bit superior processor than Acer Iconia A3, because although it has doesn't have a graphics co-processor, and they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also counts with a higher amount of RAM memory. The Acer Iconia A3 counts with a little more vivid screen than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a much lower count of pixels per inch of display, a lot lower resolution of 800 x 1280 and a quite smaller display.
The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a very superior storage to install games and applications than Acer Iconia A3, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with more internal memory. Acer Iconia A3 counts with a way better battery performance than Microsoft Surface 2.
The Microsoft Surface 2 shoots slightly better photographs and videos than Acer Iconia A3. Both have the same video frame rates, a same resolution camera in the back and the same (Full HD) video quality.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Acer Iconia A3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Acer Iconia A3. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Acer Iconia A3, letting go a couple specs and features.
