The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE is much better than Acer Iconia A3, getting a overall score of 63 against 55.2. Both tablets in this review come with Android OS, but the Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has 4.4.2 version and Acer Iconia A3 has Android 4.2 version. The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE design is somewhat thinner but a little heavier than the Acer Iconia A3, and they were released with only 9 months difference.
The Acer Iconia A3 features a brighter screen than Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE. Both have a higher pixels count per inch in the screen, exactly the same 800 x 1280px resolution and a same size display. Acer Iconia A3 has a little bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, because although it has 1 GB lesser RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Acer Iconia A3 also counts with an additional graphics processor.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE takes a little bit better videos and photos than Acer Iconia A3. They have the same resolution camera, the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution and the same video frame rates. Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE features a little bit more memory capacity for apps and games than Acer Iconia A3, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE also has a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 64 GB.
The Acer Iconia A3 features a very superior battery performance than Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE.
Although Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE is a better device, it costs a lot more than Acer Iconia A3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Acer Iconia A3. If you want to save some money, you can get Acer Iconia A3, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your savings.
